Finatech Update – 4Q08 to 2Q09

What have we been up to at Finatech in the midst of the global recession? Well, we decided to reorganize ourselves so that we are even more ready for 2010 and the global upturn.
In 4Q08, we focused our efforts on disseminating our core competencies in all of our subsidiaries. Through that exercise we realized we can streamline our processes to better serve our customers. So we regrouped many of the expert teams in Business Units that now operate in laser-like form at the client site, both in terms of time, cost and efficiency. All and all, we have 10 BUs organized around 4 core competencies Infrastructure; Payment & Security Systems; IT Services & Offshoring; and BPO & Web Services.
In 1Q09, we decided to create a customer-facing team that could be a prescribing advisor to our clients rather than a typical sales team. We assembled the best and brightest technology advisors we can find in the group and outside the group to form the Client Solutions Team – the CST. Their role is to listen to our customers, decipher their management challenges, advise on business process improvement, and then propose the optimal technology solution, whether it comes from Finatech or others.
In 2Q09, we realized that all our business units were spread all over town in Casablanca, so we launched a single site – 40.000 square feet at Casanearshore – Casablanca’s Premier Technology Park. Our neighbors are Dell, Logica, CapGemini, AtosOrigin, BNP Paribas, Nestle Managed Services. This open space will enhance our culture and our collaboration. It will provide a status-less productivity, driven by objectives, client satisfaction and associate retention.
Our move is programmed for August. All our administrative services will be merged into central services – Finance & Accounting; Purchasing & Logistics; Human Capital Management & IT; Quality Control & Certifications. We will have a chance to publish a detailed organization chart of our group in July.
Many of our top managers find the new format of the group highly efficient and motivating. Their enthusiasm has clearly beamed all over town, because it has attracted a number of highly talented executives to join the group from a number of technology multinationals. We cannot wait for our organization’s effectiveness to be proven even further during the second half of 2009, and to take all of its meaning in 2010.
Change is good.
Constant Change is even better.
